Travel Wishlist: May

A collection of dream destinations

It probably comes as absolutely no surprise that I'm a big fan of holidays (who isn't?) and I'm someone who finds travel a *huge* source of inspiration when it comes to my work. My creative brain can get become quite static if I don't give it something exciting to run off every now and then, and this has especially been difficult given that we've all been stuck at home for the past couple of years, unable to travel and explore as freely as we once could.

Places on my list to visit this month:

  • Colour; from the calm soothing palettes of the natural scenery through the bright and vivid expressions of murals, architecture and

  • Texture; there's something so visceral about the feeling of sand in between your toes and running your hand across a stonewash wall that you tend to forget about when you're facing a computer screen every day.

  • Language; the simplicity of words and their meaning come to life when you stop over complicating things. I love listening to how people communicate in different languages around the world.

Now that the world is opening up again, I'm determined to make up for lost time and immerse myself in travel once more. Every month I'm going to make a little wish list of places I'd like to visit (or re-visit, because you can never have too much of a good thing). I mean, the physical and financial reality of me visiting all of these places is *obviously* never going to happen, but I've realised that even if I can't technically get myself to these locations, I can pour a little design time into them instead...

Places on the travel wishlist this month:

  • Antibes

  • Tulum

  • Split

  • New Orleans

  • Miami

  • Nice
