Boho Inspired Wedding at Marshwood Manor

Set in the magical woodland of Dorset, this styled photoshoot was all highlighting those whimsical touches that bring a fairytale wedding to life.

The venue

Marshwood Manor

Built with a vision of ethereal folklores and natural, tranquil surroundings, this venue has everything you need for a bohemian inspired wedding. Imagine your guests walking into a enchanting setting full of dreamlike decor and a charming atmosphere, and that's before you've even walked across the bridge on the stream to say your vows in the Victorian bower within the natural greenery of Marshwood. Talk about serious impact and a magical je ne se quis - your guests won't know what's hit them.

Marshwood Manor has four equally beautiful areas to say "I do" and to celebrate your special day, including the Woodland Bower, the Haybarn, The Wildflower Meadow (how dreamy does this sound already) and the Courtyard which can be used for smaller, more relaxed ceremonies.

If an outdoor setting isn't quite your thing for the main event, the Haybarn offers a glorious indoor space for ceremonies, dinner and dancing, which you can see in the photos below.

The vision

Wild Wood Weddings and Events

This gorgeous boho photoshoot was inspired by golden hues and earthy tones with hints of western style peppered throughout. From the exquisite natural textures and rich colours of the decor the styling and the wardrobe, every details was through about. Wild Wood Weddings and Events specialises in western boho, and while they're based in the South West (I know I'm bias here, but I love the South West!) they travel all over bringing boho dreams to life. Have a look at their website for even more beautiful shots of some of their most recent work.

The photographer

Lola Rose Photos

Self confessed 'memory maker for free spirits and adventurous souls' (how magical is this line by the way?) Kelly was the absolute perfect fit for this shoot. Capturing every small stunning detail with a delicate, soft and natural touch showcases her whimsical work so beautifully. Based in Dorset, Lola Rose Photos is another one to add to your South West favourite list...

The finer details

Stationery, tablescape, flowers, models and accessories

When it came to the stationery design for this shoot I knew we wanted to go bold to stand out against the creamy textures and colours of the beautiful tablescape decor provided by the wonderful @winterborne_vintage and @keepingitvintagedevon. The vintage style cut glassware (a personal fav of mine, you can never have too many glasses in your life - fact), the traditional clay pots, antique lighting, macrame wall hangings and tasseled rugs all added to the contemporary pattern of the shoot. The invitation and menu design were printed on a striking rust coloured card (manufactured from responsibly harvested forests, as always) to sit with the earthy tones of the shoot, with white handmade clay place names (also available in terracotta) sitting on top. Using a bold dash of colour is a fabulous way to add depth to your wedding stationery if you're going with a fairly neutral colour palette, especially when it comes to menus, table numbers and any other items you'll display on a busy table. We don't want those beautiful little nuggets of lovely design to get lost in a sea of plates and foliage now do we? (Which are equally as beautiful for the record).

Keeping with those delightfully earthy tones, Dorchester-based Stems Florist pulled together a beautifully rich palette of reds and oranges which really sang against the natural eucalyptus greenery. The wild display was free from strict form, allowing the leaves and petals to do their thing and gently sweep their surroundings. And no bohemian wedding would be complete without a radiant display of dried flower goodness (step aside and make way for the pampas grass please...)

Powerhouse real-couple models Adam and Jen from @never.always.couple absolutely smashed the effortlessly romantic looks for this shoot, offering up the most natural and captivating shots in their @bridalreloved gowns and @suitstosuituk attire (adding a fabulous wardrobe to the tick list of this shoot) which was then finished off flawlessly with hair and make up from the wonderful @amazing_facedorset.

A special shout out to the @oliveandochre who supplied the dreamiest western style hat adorned with dried flowers, @bellemodelleltd for the super stylish sofa which I could easily pick and move straight into my house, and @linzimayscakes for the stunning naked cake.

Having such a special collection of suppliers come together from the South West to create this shoot definitely shows in the final images. By combining natural elements and textures with subtly vintage styles you can create a look along these very lines. I really hope you can use this as inspiration for your own boho inspired wedding or event in the future, and if you'd like to get in touch with any of the suppliers there's a list below, just to make their day and make your life super easy.
